This female fronted 5-piece from Carlisle will have all indie lovers drooling, while their debut EP ‘Narrow Angles’ is due out soon.

 

Old Tramp – Kiss My Arse
Some great ‘Tramp Pop’ from the artist also known as Johnno Casson, but don’t let your kids hear it, or they might sing it out loud in public like mine did!

 

Apollo Junction – Such a Carry On
This Leeds based band have featured here before, and their superb electro based indie pop warrants a return with this great tune.

Brighton based Classic Plastic have appeared here before, and they’ve come up with another cracker in this highly melodic indie track, so we’ve included them again!

Si Senor / Yes Sir – Polo Heart
This slowjam electro track from Manchester based duo Si Senor / Yes Sir might be mellow, but it’s highly infectious.

CPNHGN – You & I
Pronounced ‘Copenhagen’, this recently formed band from Ireland have yet to perform live, but if this track is anything to go by they will be well worth seeing.

My Little Brother – Steve
This delightful piano based track from Cumbrian band My Little Brother is pretty much guaranteed to leave you with a smile on your face.

This blog, and the Emerging artists recommendations, has only been going since August, so I thought I’d add a few tracks from across 2012 that warrant a listen but haven’t already been featured. They range from the loud to the mellow, and while I love them all I hope you find a few that appeal to you.

Bleech – Break My Nose
East London band Bleech create an excellent blend of indie rock, with the all important added ingredient of including infectious sing-a-long melodies too.

 

Tom Hickox – Pretty Pride of Russia
Camden based Tom Hickox began song writing as a 17-year old. He combined this with a passion for playing the piano, and ‘The Pretty Pride of Russia’ superbly highlights his velvety smooth voice and excellent song writing skills.

 

Tennis – Origins
If you like your indie in a shoegaze pop style then Denver based husband and wife duo Tennis should be to your liking.

 

Devin – You’re Mine
New York based Devin released this fuzzy rock ‘n’ roll helter skelter of a track earlier in 2012, so if you missed it then please make amends now.

 

Golden Fable – Sugarloaf
This North Wales duo were formerly members of “Tim and Sam’s Tim and the Sam Band”, while Sugarloaf is a multilayered track where choral vocals mix with great guitar to produce an excellent sound.

 

The Neighbourhood – Female Robbery
From their debut EP “I’m Sorry” this is a superb piece of slow tempo indie from Los Angeles group The Neighbourhood.

The final show of the year is an End of Term party, with fun & festive tracks, plus a Triple Treat music quiz, and… lots of requested Guilty Pleasures [censored]. Behave though… as a number of listeners were sent to the naughty corner!

St. Albans cult, indie-pop band The Pocket Gods have been going for a number of years and this electro bass track also includes some alien inspired sampling.

Classic Plastic – Bucket & Spade Escapade
Classic Plastic are a fairly new band from Brighton. Mid paced indie tunes may not get you dancing often, but this one should!

The Rough Cuts – Come Die With Me
This 4-piece band from Winchester make great tuneful indie, and if this track appeals to you then also have a listen to “Brown Cigar”.
